CSIR-Science and Technology Policy Research Institute (CSIR-STEPRI) had the privilege of hosting a delegation from Sierra Leone as part of a knowledge exchange visit to Ghana, marking an important step in strengthening regional collaboration in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI).
The visit facilitated a highly engaging and insightful exchange, characterized by shared experiences, diverse perspectives, and meaningful dialogue on research and innovation systems. Central to the discussions was the role of CSIR-STEPRI in shaping national policy through evidence-based research. The delegation expressed keen interest in understanding how the Institute’s work informs decision-making processes and contributes to the development and implementation of STI policies in Ghana.
Further deliberations examined the institutional structure of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), highlighting how its coordinated framework supports the translation of research into tangible socio-economic outcomes.
Both teams also explored avenues for future collaboration between Ghana and Sierra Leone, particularly in policy research, capacity building, institutional strengthening, and joint initiatives aimed at addressing shared development challenges across the region.
CSIR-STEPRI looks forward to deepening this engagement and advancing impactful partnerships that promote inclusive and sustainable development in Africa.
