Advancing community-informed research while respecting project confidentiality

CSIR-STEPRI has supported field-based activities aimed at strengthening understanding of energy access considerations in deprived and remote communities in Ghana.

The work forms part of broader efforts to generate evidence that can inform clean energy planning, policy dialogue and context-responsive development interventions.

Field engagement plays an important role in ensuring that research reflects lived realities, local priorities and practical implementation conditions, particularly in communities where energy access challenges are shaped by geography, livelihoods and infrastructure.

A responsible approach to field engagement

Through structured engagement with community members and local stakeholders, the field activities helped build a broad understanding of energy use, cooking practices and factors that may influence the adoption of cleaner energy solutions.
