Dr. Aaron Alesane is a Development Economist and Research Scientist at the CSIR–Science and Technology Policy Research Institute (CSIR–STEPRI), with over 15 years of experience in research, policy analysis, and international development. His work focuses on development finance, financial inclusion, institutional economics, and economic policy, with particular emphasis on how financial systems and policy frameworks shape livelihoods and inclusive growth in emerging economies.
His research integrates econometric analysis, institutional approaches, and field-based insights to inform evidence-based policymaking.
Dr. Alesane has contributed to national and international development initiatives and previously served as Head of the Business and Information Services Division at CSIR–Institute of Industrial Research (CSIR-IIR). He also holds adjunct academic roles at GIMPA Business School and the University of Ghana Business School.
He holds a PhD in International Development from the University of Reading, UK, along with multiple postgraduate degrees in economics and development finance. His work continues to support inclusive finance, sustainable development, and economic resilience across Africa.
