Before joining the CSIR–Savannah Agricultural Research Institute (CSIR–SARI), Mr. Abdulai Baba Al-hassan began his career at the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) as a Customer Service Officer following the completion of his first degree. Through dedication and diligence, he advanced to the position of Accountant in January 2017 and was later promoted to Senior Accountant in July 2022.
During his tenure at CSIR–SARI, he held several leadership roles, including serving as the Local President of the CSIR–Administrators Association of Ghana (CAAG) from January 2022 to March 2024. He also chaired the Loans Committee of the SARI Workers Credit Union from 2014 to 2017 and contributed as a member of both the Fuel Committee and the Fixed Assets Coordinating Unit (FACU).
On April 15, 2024, Mr. Al-hassan was appointed Head of Finance and Accounts at the CSIR–Science and Technology Policy Research Institute (CSIR–STEPRI). One of his notable achievements has been effectively translating financial theory into practical financial reporting for various donor-supported projects. He has successfully managed and reported on funds from more than fifteen donor organizations, including CORAF, USAID, CIMMYT, and AGRA.
In his current role at CSIR–STEPRI, Mr. Al-hassan continues to leverage his extensive experience to drive resource mobilization and ensure the prudent use of funds. He is recognized for his conscientiousness, reliability, and strong interpersonal relationships with both superiors and peers.
