The project aims to be a means to convene key actors and shift the conversation on STI in Africa, with national governments and SGCs at the heart of the narrative.

Specific Objective

The project aims to be a means to convene key actors and shift the conversation on STI in Africa, with national governments and SGCs at the heart of the narrative. There is an opportunity to address pressing concerns around STI funding and research collaboration, and to make better linkages with inclusivity and development outcomes, including but not limited to consideration of targets and objectives under SDG 9 and STISA-2024.

Expected Outcome

The expected outcomes include:
  • A Masterclass working paper developed and presented at an international platform.
  • Finalization of a scholarly publication and a policy brief
  • (Series of conversations and structured policy dialogues organized in West Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa.
Ultimately the project outputs will help drive the adoption of R&D interventions and products that ensure livelihood improvements and the contribution of Science Technology and Innovation to the socio-economic development of the continent.

Major Outcomes

Status of Science, Technology and Innovation Report to guide decisions on the Sustainable Development Goals, Agenda 2063 and Science Policy on the African Continent.

Policy Influence on the global, regional and national Science and Investment Flows
